Linda and Ian’s wedding was a stunning example of the new age format. Held at a state of the art wedding venue, this event progressed through multiple stages and took contributions from the industry’s best suppliers.

THE WEDDING CEREMONY

We were delighted to cater the wedding of Linda and Ian on Saturday 22 April, with the newlyweds taking their vows in the timeless Old Government House before attending a reception at Room Three Sixty.

Linda and Ian were wed in Old Government House before family and friends. Built in the 1860s, this elegant heritage site is immensely popular for special occasions, featuring a classic style unlike any other function space in Brisbane.

Old Government House sits adjacent to the sprawling City Botanic Gardens in QUT’s Gardens Point campus.

The Wedding Reception

Within Room Three Sixty, the wedding reception boasted striking views of the Brisbane skyline. The room was divided in half with a flowing white curtain, providing two spaces for the proceedings – one space was used to host a small, intimate gathering of family and friends. The other side of the curtain provided space for a cocktail party with extended friends and family.

Close family and friends attended a sit-down dinner with the newlywed couple, with guests welcomed into a space featuring luscious greenery by Bouquet Boutique and stylish white linens draped over every table, with potted plants and white flowers acting as centrepieces.

For the dinner, Cuisine on Cue laid tables with stunning serves of thyme roasted pressed pork belly with pinto bean, chorizo cassoulet, and tempura onion; and eye fillet with celeriac and Parmesan gratin, roasted carrot, charred onion and truffle jus. Afterwards, guests indulged in Queensland berry tarts with fresh egg custard and vanilla floss, and pineapple and almond upside-down cake.

COCKTAIL PARTY

Following the dinner, extended guests were welcomed into the other side of the room, where they mingled over drinks and canapés by Cuisine on Cue. With stunning views of the city and draped lights illuminating the room, Room Three Sixty crafted an incredible atmosphere for the cocktail-style reception.

Cuisine on Cue staff toted cocktail offerings of slow roasted pork belly spring rolls with chili apple compote, shortcrust beef wellingtons with onion jam, and crumbed Southern spiced chicken brioche sliders with charred corn and carrot slaw.

Once the sit-down dinner had finished, the full wedding party came together for drinks, dancing, and the cake-cutting.
