Cuisine on Cue had the pleasure of catering for Room Three Sixty’s annual Riverfire Event. The event was organised to help recognise the donors of QUT’s Learning Potential Fund and provide an opportunity for staff and sponsors to meet with other donors.
This extravagant evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all guests who were treated to the high-quality food, beverages, and entertainment while enjoying the best Riverfire views Brisbane has to offer.
The Venue: Room Three Sixty
Room Three Sixty is located on QUT’s inner-city campus directly opposite the Botanic Gardens. This contemporary event space is surrounded by incredible floor to ceiling glass windows featuring panoramic views of Brisbane’s skyline, making it one of the best spots to enjoy the spectacular sights of Riverfire.
Venue Styling & Theming
The venue was brought to life by Styled Events, who chose a selection of pink, yellow and green furnishings to match the party’s Copacabana theme.
Dry bars draped in pink tablecloths were topped with plastic flamingos and decorated with leafy green tropical plants. Cuisine on Cue’s catering staff also dressed according to the theme with colourful overalls.
The venue’s state of the art AV facilities included a projector and lectern for speakers such as Tracy Spicer, along with a stage for a live band.
A photo booth set up by ‘Frankly Social’ provided guests with additional costumes and props for lasting memories.
Arrival
Guests arrived before sunset to soak up the fantastic views while sipping on peach bellinis, wine and beer.
At 5:30 the super hornets and helicopters took to the skies and guests were treated to a close-up view of the awe-inspiring aircrafts. As the patrons delighted in the show, they were served hot and cold canapés including freshly shucked Pacific oysters with cucumber noodles and pickled seaweed, and slow roasted pork belly spring roll with chilli apple compote.
The Fireworks
Following speeches, guests made their way to the viewing decks as Brisbane’s skyline erupted in a sensational fireworks display. Guests watched in amazement as they indulged in heartier canapés such as crumbed southern-spiced chicken brioche sliders with charred corn, carrot slaw and grilled avocado capsicum, served alongside haloumi mini burgers with chickpea aioli.
Live Band & Dessert Station
Scotch and Cider took to the stage and the guests hit the dance floor while Cusine on Cue unveiled an incredible dessert bar overflowing with sweet treats.
Some of the dessert bar items included mini lemon meringue tart, mini housemade cinnamon dusted doughnuts, brownie bites and chocolate mousse shortbread tart with sugared almond.
